Membership in the Daughters of the British Empire is open to women who meet any of the following criteria:
British or Commonwealth Birth
Born in the United Kingdom or a Commonwealth nation
British or Commonwealth Descent
Parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent born in the UK or the Commonwealth
Marriage
Married to someone of British or Commonwealth birth or descent
